About the group
Orbdent is today one of the fastest growing dental health organizations in Scandinavia. Our aim is to become a first choice, regardless of whether you are a patient or a healthcare professional.
We focus on preventive treatment, excellent service and quality, while always remembering our core values: quality of life, sustainable development and diversity.
Orbdent’s history
Orbdent was started by Swedish dentists Sara Nordevall and Amjad Hosseini. As dentists, they had an opportunity for targeted work in the Scandinavian dental health industry.
With the ambition to change how people view and consume dental health, the first pilot project was launched in 2011. The project was a success and led to them building several dental centers based on the same theme. With broad experience from various business phases, such as start-up, takeover, partnership and acquisition, to name a few, they have had the opportunity to design a model for the “ideal dental centre”.
This model has since been perfected to offer a successful, scalable business model adapted to the Scandinavian market. As active dentists, they missed a close, interdisciplinary collaboration between different healthcare professionals when treating their patients. They decided to set an ambitious goal of gathering dentists, doctors, psychologists and other health personnel under the same roof.
With this, the service and quality of healthcare for the patients became even greater, while at the same time it created a stimulating and developing a working environment for the staff. Sara Nordevall was born and raised in Sweden. Since an early age, she has been curious about other people, languages and cultures, and has lived in several other countries.
From an early age, Sara gained an insight into how unfair life can be, depending on where in the world you are born, and she already dreamed as a child of a better and more sustainable world. Amjad Hosseini was born in Iraq during the war, and lost large parts of his family early on.
Already as an infant, he had experienced prison and exile, and then followed a life characterized by poverty and alienation as a refugee in Iran. At the age of 20, he received a residence permit in Sweden and promised himself to do everything he could to contribute to a better and more sustainable world. Sara Nordevall and Amjad Hosseini met during their dental studies in Sweden.
They soon found out that they had common dreams and values, and they laid out a plan early on for how to fulfill their dreams of a better and more sustainable world.

Being the first choice for staff and patients is absolutely essential to achieving our goals.

A healthy mouth and a healthy body
In order for us humans to live better and more sustainably, we need good health and a good quality of life. For good health and a good quality of life, we need a healthy mouth, a healthy body, a healthy society, and a healthy world.
When we humans live better and more sustainably, we can focus on solving major global challenges, to contribute to a healthy society and a healthy world. The oral diseases are among the most common diseases in the world. Oral diseases such as caries and periodontitis are at the same time the earliest and most common signs of the need for a permanent change of habit.
With health-promoting solutions, which prevent oral diseases, we can simultaneously prevent other diseases. The key to preventing disease is to change or improve one’s habits and choose a more health-promoting alternative. Changing habits is a prerequisite for good long-term results.
A healthy society and a healthy world
For a healthy society and a healthy world, we must solve the challenges of today and the future. Major global challenges – such as global warming, climate disasters, war, pandemics and antibiotic resistance – lead to major injustices and an unstable world.
When the climate gets warmer, it can lead to e.g. drought, hunger, forest fires, floods and hurricanes, which lead to poverty, diseases, conflicts, migration and refugee crises. The UN climate panel believes that we must limit global warming by reducing greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, by 2030. This requires measures at several levels, and means that all individuals, organizations and countries must take responsibility for establishing habits that are healthier and more sustainable.
One of the most effective strategies to limit climate change is to plant trees. Studies believe that the world has the capacity to increase tree planting by 25%, which would reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by 25%. In addition, tree planting has other positive effects, such as creating work and combating poverty. Trees also stabilize the local environment by counteracting erosion of soil and nutrition, and increase biodiversity.
In addition, the soil quality and the microclimate around the tree are improved. As a bonus, trees also produce oxygen and food, which we all need to survive.
Our values
Quality of life
Good health is a prerequisite for a good quality of life. We help our patients achieve a good quality of life.
A healthy body and a healthy mind give us energy and joy in life. In order to have good health, it is important to prevent diseases and get treatment at an early stage. We want to build a solid team where health personnel from different sectors meet, exchange experiences and knowledge. A team that works together to create the healthcare organization of the future.
An interdisciplinary, learning and global organization is the prerequisite for continuous innovation and development of the healthcare services of the future. In order to help patients in the best possible way, it is a prerequisite that our employees also have a high quality of life.
That is why we place great emphasis on individual development, work-life balance, and a healthy working environment. We are looking for you who want to contribute to the development of Scandinavia’s future health organisation.
Sustainable development
Earth’s resources are scarce, and for many years we have exaggerated the consumption of the resources. To create a better future for ourselves and future generations, we, our businesses and society, must take responsibility and think and act green.
We will contribute to a development where we can meet today’s and tomorrow’s needs without compromising the ability and prerequisites of future generations to meet their own needs. This means that we will strive to build an inclusive, sustainable and flexible future for people and the planet. In our businesses, we optimize existing resources and try to minimize the waste of energy, water and materials. Our clinics are close to the center and easily accessible by public transport, which reduces the need for car transport for our patients and staff.
At the same time, we offer our patients hours in the evening and at weekends, which gives patients the opportunity to combine their visit with us in connection with other errands. Our clinics are in use 13-16 hours a day, also at weekends. This greatly reduces our energy requirement per treatment. Our goal is fully digital clinics that minimize the use and need for paper, energy and consumables.
Contact us if you are passionate about a more sustainable development in dental health. Diversity is our strength. Both research and experience show that diversity increases creativity, productivity, efficiency and improves group dynamics. As an organisation, we want to be a model for integration and cooperation between people of different cultures, backgrounds, genders, ages and experiences.
Furthermore, we want to connect different professions in an interdisciplinary collaboration around the patient. We see that it leads to increased creativity and understanding, which extends beyond the workplace, and further into families, homes, and society as a whole.
Diversity
We are very proud winners of the Diversity Award in Oslo for large enterprises in 2020. The Diversity Award is the state’s award for outstanding use of immigrants’ skills in working life and is awarded under the auspices of the Ministry of Education.
Orbdent’s founders, dentist Sara Nordevall and Amjad Hosseini, received the Diversity Award 2020.
The jury’s reasoning is as follows: “Orbdent is a company with a high academic level, and which has experienced tremendous growth since its inception. A number of nationalities are represented by the employees, and they have a very large degree of diversity at the management level.
The jury applauds the initiative they have shown by starting up a business themselves where the labor market showed a gap, where the initiators themselves experienced challenges in being included in Norwegian working life. Orbdent works consciously and systematically with diversity, and shows this clearly in its profiling and its value base.
Dental health services of the future
In connection with the fact that both the patient base and the team grew rapidly, it also created an increased need for a smart operating and quality assurance system. As there was no suitable system on the market that met their high requirements, they decided to develop their own system: Anita Systems.
The name Anita comes from the Latin word sanitas, which means health. Anita has integrated everything needed to drive and lead the development of the dental health organizations in the future. By focusing on preventive health work and treatment, the patients’ health and well-being increases, and in addition their quality of life. Healthy and happy patients contribute to the development of society, instead of creating an unnecessarily high need for health and dental services.
We at Orbdent believe that the key to a healthier and happier society, and a healthier and happier world, lies in preventive services and treatment where we see the whole person.
